The name River Plate is not only synonymous with the most prestigious duck hunting in Argentina…we are just as proud of our legendary mixed-bag hunts. As a matter of fact, when we started out nearly 25 years ago, we tirelessly searched for locations suited to combine the best duck hunting in Argentina with the best dove hunting and exceptional perdiz hunting. After extensive scouting, we opened our first mixed-bag hunting operations in the southern region of the Entre Rios province. This is the ideal place for consistent Argentina duck hunting, Cordoba-volume dove hunting and bountiful perdiz populations. River Plate hunters enjoy private access to a huge variety of marshes, ponds and rivers as well as countless perdiz-packed pastures. The area is also home to millions of resident eared dove, making our Entre Rios lodges perfect for mixed-bag hunting AND year-round dove hunting.
What to Expect in the Field
Many experienced international sportsmen will tell you that some of the best duck hunting in Argentina can be found in the Entre Rios province. With two fantastic duck hunting lodges there, we couldn’t agree more. But the legendary Argentina duck hunting is just part of the story – the dove hunting and perdiz hunting in Entre Rios is just as impressive. Our Entre Rios programs begin with a pick-up in Buenos Aires and an easy 3-hr transfer to one of our two hunting lodges. Hunters enjoy a hearty meal then head out to the field for an afternoon of intense high-volume dove shooting. In the mornings, guests have their choice of duck hunting or perdiz hunting behind dogs. Afternoons in Entre Rios are generally reserved for dove shooting, but swapping out dove hunts for perdiz or duck hunting can be arranged for a nominal fee.
Because of the popularity of our Entre Rios hunting programs, we operate from two distinguished lodges in Entre Rios – Santa Rosa and El Rincon. Both lodges offer easy access to the area’s pristine Argentina duck hunting habitat, the high-volume dove fields and numerous perdiz hunting hot spots. Santa Rosa has five bedrooms and five bathrooms; groups here are normally limited to eight. El Rincon has seven bedrooms and four bathrooms; groups here are normally limited to ten. At both lodges hunters can expect nothing less than first-class service, luxury amenities and unforgettable meals.
Santa Rosa and El Rincon are both located approximately three hours north of Buenos Aires in the Entre Rios province. The lodges are roughly midway between the towns of Gualeguay and Victoria, not far from the banks of the Parana River.
